#TBT [ThrowBackThursday] week 49 of 2015. This week, something I remember from my visit to Slovakia, 1 of the 52 countries I visited prior to 2015.
Slovakia is one of those European countries that was not really high on my list to visit. Maybe the reason was that it’s a country that hides in the shadows of its neighbors Czech, Austria and Hungary? I visited it first for business and I can tell that for my business it was a loss of time and money. I tried it for three years but it did not take off. In that case Slovakia for sure was in the shadows and stays in the shadows of its neighbors. As for a leisure visit however it completely changed my view!
My business trip changed my leisure view on Slovakia
Slovakia has a lot to offer and the good thing is that everything is still cheap as it was many years ago in Czech and Hungary. I went back with the family to try to complete our project that our kids should visit each European capital before they are 18 years old plus set foot on each continent. We stayed 5 nights in Bratislava, a small but very pleasant capital. Pretty sights to go see and great restaurants with quality food at a very affordable price. As it was small we did a one day tour to Banska Stiavnica so that we could see a bit out of the capital too. Simply beautiful nature, small towns and a lot of history to explore. This leisure trip again changed my view on Slovakia; I have to go back again and see more!
