Yemen is a country on the southern tip of the Arabian Peninsula of the Middle East. It borders Saudi Arabia in the north and Oman in the east. Yemen has developed in a unique was as it has been on the crossroads of many cultures dating back to the 12th century BC. Most of the country has a desert climate but at altitude it can get cold at night. The many Wadi’s (valleys) can be pleasantly green especially in central plateau. Yemen has 6 regions, the coastal plans, the mountains in the west, the highlands in the east, the empty quarter in the north and the Red Sea Islands and Socotra.
