A leisure only trip to two more capitals of Europe. Planned in a way to see the most important, if not all, sights in both capitals. First stop Stockholm, Sweden where the first days are spent (see post here: SWEDEN – Stockholm (2012.07.19 – 2012.07.29)). From there a detour to Riga, Latvia to check out this small capital. From there we went back to Stockholm with a connecting flight after back to Amsterdam. In Riga we visited the old town which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 1 through 7 – Arrival & Stockholm
see post here: SWEDEN – Stockholm (2012.07.19 – 2012.07.29)
on day 7 we arrived to Riga to our hotel, the Radisson Blue hotel.
Day 8, 9 & 10 – Exploring Riga
Just a simple post with a photo impression, check the map below. We just walked in three days all the places in a very relaxing way. The city is small and in three days you can see all without problem. Very great city, good atmosphere and very cheap.
Day 11 – Departure
From Riga we had the flight back on AirBaltic to Stockholm where after a 3 hour wait we connected on KLM flight back to Amsterdam arriving late evening. Unfortunately the Dutch trains ***** up again so we had to spend a night in a hotel on Schiphol Airport, we departed the next day by train home.
