Jannah Hotels & Resorts was unknown to me until I met with them during an Abu Dhabi tourism fair. The philosophy of Jannah Burj al Sarab sounded very interesting to me and I decided to stay with them during the autumn school holidays so that my family could join. If you arrive to a hotel one of the best things that can happen are luxurious upgrades. I, my family too, was lucky this time and for two nights a 180-square meter penthouse suite was my home. The “Welcome Home” slogan of Jannah Hotels & Resorts makes sense. Let me show you around and take you to happiness island too which is complimentary if you stay with them. First I’ll show you a short video impression.
The hotel
Jannah Burj al Sarab is located downtown Abu Dhabi near the start of the cornice. It’s a city hotel located in an 18-story building. When I arrived, everything went smooth and the Karim’s took care of everything. A Karim is a butler who can arrange everything for you. Just ask and it gets done like unpacking your luggage for example. I enjoyed a cold juice and towel while check-in was taken care off. When the staff was ready, I was escorted to my room where the various features were explained. Jannah Burj al Sarab is a dry hotel but inside your room you can consume own alcohol. At the ground floor, next to the reception is a small bar to have a tea and the restaurant is located there too. I especially enjoyed the attentive staff who took care of everything.
The rooms at Jannah Burj al Sarab
We were lucky at Jannah Burj al Sarab to get an upgrade to a presidential suite with my family. The room makes up a quarter of the whole floor and has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, dining room, study room and a huge living room with kitchen. How cool is that? I did see also one of their standard suites and these are also huge! My son made the study room his home and my daughter got the dining room. The kids stayed in the twin bedroom and my wife and I had the king master bedroom. Both rooms had their own bathroom with rainforest shower and bath. We didn’t need to fight in the morning who could go first as we all could shower at the same time. The living room (also in the standard suites) has an adjacent kitchenette which comes in handy for longer stays. I enjoyed my stay in this huge suite and Jannah Hotel Burj al Sarab makes you feel at home.
Facilities at Jannah Burj al Sarab
Jannah Burj al Sarab has a gym and pool at the top floor. The pool isn’t huge but for a city hotel nice for an afternoon dip. Jannah Burj al Sarab however has also a great offer for Happiness Island by Andalus. Andalus is another brand from the same group. This island is a private island and just half an hour away from Jannah Burj al Sarab. A short 10-minute taxi ride and a 15-minute boat ride. I did a one day tour to Happiness Island to enjoy the beach, infinity pool and bar. How cool is it looking at the Abu Dhabi skyline from a private infinity pool on a private island while sipping on a cocktail? Yes, cool! This was a great luxury experience also for my kids. They still tell stories about their private island experience at school. A city hotel combined with a private island is just perfect!
Dining & Drinking at Jannah Burj al Sarab
Jannah Burj al Sarab has a shisha bar at the top floor but to be honest I don’t like to smoke shisha. I had a tea there and I can say the ambiance is great. Next to the lobby is the all-day dining restaurant where I had breakfast. Breakfast has a large choice of Arabic and Western dishes. Eggs are prepared on order the way you prefer. As you probably know I like my eggs sunny side up. For dinner I went out to the Japanese restaurant just around the corner called Samurai Japanese Restaurant. This is a good affordable place as I paid just 100 euro for 4 people. Japanese food in Abu Dhabi at such a price including sushi, sashimi and other dishes. Jannah Burj al Sarab serves great food and if you want to go out there are many affordable options within walking distance.
Conclusion
If you plan to visit Abu Dhabi downtown I recommend to stay at Jannah Burj al Sarab. It’s a comfortable city hotel which also has access to a private island. The comfortable suites are large and have a kitchenette which is useful for longer stays. I enjoyed my stay and I’m sure you will as well. I felt at home and so did my family.
